The Use of Yonaka Coilover Assemblies Discussed
The difference with using Yonaka's coilover assemblies is superb. If a car was previously tail happy , it will feel well grounded, comfortably hugging the road. With the yonaka coilover assemblies, the ride comfort will not decrease very much. A test drive on new wheels or tires before the yonaka coilover assemblies were installed demonstrated more road noise and sensitivity, but the yonaka coilover assemblies do not seem to have an effect. The yonaka coilover assemblies provide additional road clearance for lowered vehicles.
If you work in a shop, and you install the yonaka coilover assemblies yourself, you'll be surprised, everything will fit like stock, and you won't have any problems installing them what so ever. It will take you a good part of the day to install them, but it's understandable, seeing the work involved. After the install, the yonaka coilover assemblies, typically have ZERO problems. There may be some clunking in the rear from time to time, if there is check that the collars on the shocks are tight enough. The clunking shouldn't return after they are properly tightened.
One thing about the yonaka coilover assemblies is that they do not go low enough for some people. They seem to be at sportline height, approx. 2" drop, however, it's been said that your not supposed to reinstall the front strut bearings with yonaka coilover assemblies.
You will most definently need an alignment after installing your yonaka coilover assemblies, and if you plan on going low, you need camber links too. The toe in the front may seem to be out, and the rear camber will be off . After being lowered, without camber links your tires will not last long. Camber links and an alignment is highly recommended after installing yonaka coilover assemblies.
The ride quality of your car will be stiffer with yonaka coilover assemblies, but that is typical when you lower your ride. The suspension will feel tight and handle significantly better which should make up for the loss in ride quality.
